GREAT WHITE: Grand Jury Testimony Requested From Nightclub Case

October 27, 2006

The Associated Press reports that a judge will hold a hearing this morning on a request to release secret grand jury testimony in The Station nightclub fire.

Attorney General Patrick Lynch filed a petition this week asking for the release. The details of his request have not been made public because of the rules surrounding grand jury testimony, so the extent of the request is unclear.

The February 2003 fire killed 100 people and injured more than 200.

It was started when pyrotechnics set off by the hard rock band GREAT WHITE set fire to foam surrounding the stage.

The band manager and one of the club's owners are serving time in prison. The second club owner was ordered to perform 500 hours of community service.
